ASCOT, England (AP) — Trip To Paris made a late
charge for glory to win the showpiece Gold Cup on the third day of Royal
Ascot on Thursday. The 12-1 shot, with Grand National-winning jockey Graham Lee on board, finished powerfully against the far rail and got up to beat Kingfisher by a length and a quarter. Previously unbeaten favorite Forgotten Rules had hit the front passing the two-furlong marker but finished third.
Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has attended the meeting all week.
